Postdoctoral Scholar
The Cognitive Neuroscience of Creativity Lab at Penn State University, led by Dr. Roger Beaty, is seeking a Postdoctoral Scholar to join its team. The lab employs a combination of behavioral experiments, neuroimaging, and computational methods to investigate the psychology, neuroscience, and measurement of creativity.
Ideal candidates should possess a PhD in psychology, neuroscience, education, computer science, linguistics, or a related field, and have a strong interest in creativity research with a record of relevant publications. Experience with natural language processing, machine learning, psychometrics, and/or web development is preferred. Women and underrepresented individuals are especially encouraged to apply.
The Postdoctoral Scholar will work closely with Dr. Beaty on NSF-funded research projects that focus on developing cognitive tests of creativity and/or investigating creativity using neuroimaging methods. The position involves data collection and analysis, mentoring undergraduate and graduate students, and writing research papers for publication. Postdoctoral Scholars receive mentorship and resources to prepare them for an independent career.
The position is for one year, beginning on August 1, 2025, with a strong possibility of renewal. Salary and benefits will align with NSF guidelines based on the candidate’s experience and qualifications.
For any questions about the position or to express your interest in applying, contact Roger Beaty (rebeaty@psu.edu). Please include your CV and a brief note about your research interests. An online application for the position will be available in the coming weeks.
